Options Overview

XB Product Options is a Shopify app that allows store owners to create custom product options for personalized products. Customers can use these options to customize their purchases with text, images, colors, and more.

What are Product Options?​

Product options are custom fields that appear on your Shopify product pages, allowing customers to personalize their purchases with custom text, image uploads, color selections, and other customization choices.

Option Types​

Text Fields​

  • Single Line Text: For short inputs like names, initials, or brief messages
  • Multi-line Text: For longer content like detailed descriptions or specifications
  • Color Options: Allow customers to choose text colors with custom or predefined color sets
  • Font Selection: Enable customers to select from various font families
  • Character Limits: Set minimum and maximum length restrictions
  • Pricing Integration: Add additional costs for premium text options

Selection Fields​

  • Select: Multiple choice options in a dropdown menu
  • Radio Buttons: Single selection from multiple options
  • Checkboxes: Multiple selections allowed

Special Fields​

  • File Upload: Allow customers to upload images, documents, or other files
  • Date Picker: Calendar interface for selecting dates
  • Number Input: Numeric values with optional ranges

Creating Your First Option​

  1. Open XB Product Options: In your Shopify admin, go to Apps > XB Product Options
  2. Create New Option: Click "Create New Option" and select the type you need
  3. Configure Settings: Set up the option parameters (label, required, pricing, etc.)
  4. Assign to Products: Choose which products will have this option
  5. Publish: Save and publish your option to make it live on your store

Option Configuration​

Basic Settings​

  • Option Name: The label customers will see
  • Required: Whether customers must fill this out
  • Default Value: Pre-filled content (optional)
  • Help Text: Additional instructions for customers

Advanced Settings​

  • Conditional Logic: Show/hide based on other selections
  • Pricing: Add costs for premium options
  • Character Limits: Minimum and maximum text length
  • File Restrictions: Allowed file types and sizes

Best Practices for Shopify Stores​

  • Keep it Simple: Don't overwhelm customers with too many options
  • Clear Labels: Use descriptive names that customers understand
  • Mobile Friendly: Ensure options work well on mobile devices
  • Required vs Optional: Only make fields required if absolutely necessary
  • Test on Live Store: Always test options on your live Shopify store
