Product Variants and Options

Can customers wishlist specific product variants?

Yes, XB Wishlist supports product variants. When a customer adds a product with variants to their wishlist, the specific variant they selected (including size, color, material, etc.) will be saved with their wishlist item.

How do product variants work in the wishlist?

When a customer views a product with variants:

  1. They select their preferred variant (size, color, etc.)
  2. When they click "Add to Wishlist," the specific variant is saved
  3. The wishlist will remember their variant selection
  4. When they view their wishlist later, they'll see the exact variant they selected

What happens if a product variant becomes unavailable?

If a saved variant becomes unavailable:

  • The item will remain in the wishlist
  • The customer will see an "unavailable" status
  • They can still view the product but may need to select a different variant
  • You can configure how unavailable items are displayed

Can customers change variants directly from the wishlist?

Yes, customers can typically modify their variant selection directly from the wishlist page, allowing them to:

  • Switch between available variants
  • Update their preferences
  • Add the updated variant to their cart

Are product options and customizations saved in the wishlist?

XB Wishlist can save basic product options, but complex customizations (like custom text, file uploads, or advanced product options) may not be fully preserved. The exact capabilities depend on your specific product setup and the app's configuration.

How many variants can be saved per product?

There's no practical limit to the number of variants that can be saved per product. Customers can save multiple variants of the same product as separate wishlist items if desired.
